Farley’s House of Pianos is the primary venue for the Salon Piano Series concerts. These concerts began in the late 1970s when touring artists began to visit the Farley's showroom and asked to perform on the instruments. A incredible array of talented pianists have performed here, including Daniel del Pino, Paul Badura-Skoda, Alessio Bax, and Valentina Lisitsa, as well as the Varshavski-Shapiro Piano Duo. Dave McKenna and Eddie Higgins are among the jazz pianists who have appeared.
Salon Piano Series is a non-profit dedicated to offering audiences the chance to hear upcoming and well-known artists in an intensely intimate setting, much as audiences heard music throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. The setting enhances collaboration between performer and audience. An artist’s reception follows each concert and some performances include pre-concert lectures.
See upcoming performances and complete programs, here. You can reserve tickets for these events by calling 608.271.2626. You may also purchase tickets at Orange Tree Imports on Monroe Street, or here at Farley's House of Pianos. To learn more visit salonpianoseries.org, or follow Salon Piano Series on Facebook.
Tim Farley unveiled his latest handmade German clavichord modeled after the Friederici clavichords at a concert featuring David Schrader on November 6, 2016 at Gates of Heaven Synagogue. Tim used reclaimed wood from Broadwood pianos and a nearly 60-year-old shipwreck. Schrader is a professor at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts Music Conservatory. Watch a video of the clavichord here.

Dear Renee and Tim!
Diana and I would like to THANK YOU for a unique opportunity to perform at Farley’s House of Pianos. We have performed at Farley’s House of Pianos three times and each one of them gave us an enormous pleasure of being part of Art that you produce.
Tim, you are truly an artist of pianos. You know not only a structure and history of the instrument but also you “FEEL” pianos. You feel their different colors and characters. After your renovation the pianos start “talking” and become better every year.
Renee, your vision of EVERY little detail in the Farley’s House of Pianos is exclusive. Your students and audience become big part of the Farley’s family. You educate people and give them ideas to think very gently and kindly about them. You have a special gift to talk to people and they want to come back.
Diana and I LOVE to come to Farley’s House of Pianos and perform there. We always know that we would have the BEST pianos in the BEST conditions and the MOST appreciative audience. Renee and Tim, THANK YOU for everything that you do!!!
Diana and Stanislava.
