Join us for an exploration of the art of practicing: ten effective ways to develop mindful listening, rhythmic vitality, and physical confidence in music practice. This program is based on Tim’s work with renowned piano teacher and pedagogue, Madeline Bruser, author of the book “The Art of Practicing.” After an introductory lecture and demonstration, there will be a hands-on workshop where participants learn how to apply specific practice techniques to music they are working on. Though most of the workshop will focus on piano practicing and teaching, these practice techniques can also be used effectively by other instrumentalists and singers.
