Tim Farley started our company in 1962. By the early '70s the growing business was located on Madison's East Wilson Street. There the Farley family and their dedicated staff gained national recognition as highly skilled piano technicians and rebuilders. After tremendous growth the Farleys moved the business to Madison's Westside in 1997. Farley's has 11,000 square feet of display space for fine new and used pianos. The restoration workshop covers another 3,000 square feet of space, and even the warehouse is full of pianos.

Farley's pianos are popular with professional musicians, who stop into the Farley showroom when they come to town for other performances, sometimes playing one piano after another to the delight of listeners.

Farley's hosts formal concerts featuring classical pianists including Paul Badura-Skoda, Radoslav Kvapil, Valentina Lisitsa and Andrea Bonatta, and jazz pianists such as Dave McKenna, Eddie Higgins and Don Stille. The performers are given their choice of instruments to play and frequently choose more than one piano for a given performance.

Our restored pianos are found around the United States and as far away as Munich and Vienna. Farley's is honored to have restored the 9' concert grand piano for the new Capitol Theater, located at the Overture Center in Madison.
