Farley's House of Pianos offers music lessons and classes for all ages.
Recent additions include Suzuki guitar group lessons, as well as private violin and viola lessons.
Farley's also offers private and group piano lessons, and instruction in voice, guitar, ukulele,
jazz improvisation, and music theory. Lessons are taught in the teaching studios at Farley's
House of Pianos on the west side of Madison. Read biographies of the Farley's instructors.
Suzuki Guitar Group Lessons are held weekly. The Suzuki method
is an enjoyable way for students age 6-8 to learn guitar. The class will be taught by Joe
Spoelstra who holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, and
is a trained Suzuki guitar teacher.
Private violin and viola lessons are taught by Shannon Farley.
Shannon Farley has taught violin and viola privately since 2002, and holds a Master of Music
degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2011 where she studied with Professor
Tyrone Greive. In addition to studying violin at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Shannon
studied viola with Madison Symphony violist Katrin Talbot.
Adult Group Piano I (beginning piano ages 17+)
Adult group piano classes are going on now. This course is designed to teach the student
how to read music and play piano. The student will explore the keyboard geography, become
familiar with reading notes on the music staff, and understand simple rhythms.
