The beautiful grain pattern of this mahogany Steinway B is often called “fiddleback” because it remsembles the beautiful patina of a fine violin. It is in fact African mahogany, a lumber no longer commercially harvested, rich and lustrous. Fully restored, this 6’11” piano is often called “the Perfect Piano” as it's at home on the stage as well as in a home music room or studio. The robust bass and bell-like overall tone of this specimen blew us away.
